Brilliant Minds Early Childhood Centre
A boutique Early Childhood Center inspired by Te Whariki's approach to learning at Three Kings.
TeWhariki, the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum is the basis of our teaching. We aim to create welcoming, nurturing, home-like surroundings that have the potential to inspire children, where parents and whanau are treated as valued members of our community. We offer a place where children can learn about the foundations of TeAoMaori and TeTiriti O Waitangi, as well as acknowledge Maoris as Tangata Whenua. We offer a rich bicultural experience that helps children value the New Zealand culture and its way of life. We respect the diversity of cultures in our centre and strive to build respectful relationships among Whanau, Tamariki, and our educators. We respect the cultural identity, heritage, and language of all ethnic groups. We ensure that there is equitable learning opportunities for all children irrespective of age, ability, ethnicity and diversity. We are inspired by Te-Whariki, (2017) which encourages children to be active participants in their learning and develop relationships with their teachers. We believe children have many ways to express themselves. They are encouraged by observation and exploration to foster critical thinking. We encourage our educators respect the child's choice and value their experiences. Open-ended questions are used to challenge and stimulate ideas. Children can make mistakes and learn by them. The child's learning and developmental progress is observed, documented, displayed, and shared with the parents. We aspire to build a place of encounter and connection, interaction and Dialogue.
